Fusion and Sufi Music Concert in Berlin
Pakistan Embassy organized a Fusion and Sufi Music Concert to celebrate Pakistan National Day in Berlin last evening. Sara Raza Khan, an upcoming young singer alongwith her fellow musicians sang Sufi and Folk songs whereas a Band with the name “Berlin to Lahore” consisting of two artists from Pakistan and two from Germany presented a fusion of instrumental music from Pakistan classic and the West. Mr. Ashraf Sharif Khan, a famous Sitar Player, Mr. Shahbaz Hussain, Tabla Player from Pakistan joined together with Mr. Christoph Reuter, a Pianist and Mr. Thomas Ruediger, Drummer from Germany and enthralled the audience with superb performance of instrumental music. Sara Raza Khan sang famous Kalam of Sufi Saints form Punjab and Sindh and took along the audience to clap and dance on the tunes of Dhamal. German Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Mr. Michael Koch was the Chief Guest. Members of the German Parliament, Senior representatives of office of the President, the Chancellor’s Office, Foreign Office and diplomats were among the guests besides a large number of cross sections of German society and Pakistani expatriates. Charge d’ Affairs in his welcome address highlighted the cultural diversity of Pakistan and said that Pakistan was a land of two important ancient civilization that flourished 5000 BC. The poetry of saints and Sufis from Sindh and Punjab contain a message of love, peace and friendship, he added.
